Chapter 12 One-way ANOVA

This chapter is fantastic as I managed to work through the math in the chapter and understand the basic essence of F-test. I am sure I would have read about Ftest many times but I had never worked out the math. Thanks to this book, I really wanted to derive the formula. Hence finally after 3 hours of effort, I have managed to get the proof. In the process, I have understood the meaning of ANOVA in a much deeper way. I have relearnt about the terminology that gets used in ANOVA - Treatment Sum of squares - Error Sum of Squares - Total Sum of Squares - anova function in R - Assumptions relating to ANOVA

One can also use a Permutation test to do a p-value test for the observed F Statistic
